AUSTRIA: The recently named “Destination of the Year 2018” by the Australian LGBTI Awards was already for a while now very high on our gay travel bucket list, especially after traveling to other parts of the Alpine state before. And what could be a better reason, besides pride, to travel to Vienna than the annual AIDS Charity event Life Ball? Exactly! Lucky us, we were invited to attend the 25th edition of Life Ball 2018 and to stay at the 5-star hotel Le Méridien Vienna located in the first district right on the so-called Ringstrasse. We as a gay couple travelers couple of men couldn’t have asked for a better gay-friendly place to stay as the Design Hotel was hosting hotel of the Life Ball event just a stone-throw away from all major sights of Vienna and, of course, close by the Vienna City Hall. NETHERLANDS: A Gay City Weekend Amsterdam without a boat tour around the canals and Grachten of Amsterdam? No way!

The colorful story of our Highlights Jasper Pride Festival Rainbow Parade Marmot Basin 2017 in Alberta, Canada – One of our biggest destination dreams came true: Canada! we traveled to the province of Alberta to attend the 8th edition of the unique Jasper Pride Festival 2017 with a very special highlight: the gay pride parade on the ski hill of the Canadian Ski Resort Marmot Basin. It was amazing to be part of four fantastic, rainbow colored days in the middle of Jasper National Park with an unbelievable supportive (not only) LGBTQ community. We fell in love with the family-like atmosphere of Jasper during the great events all over town center and at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge with the magnificent Rocky Mountains as the perfect backdrop.

CZECHIA: Full of history, unique architecture and natural beauty is really hard to find anywhere in the world, but easily in Prague.

Our gay couple travel diary of Whistler Pride 2018 Gay Ski Week in the province of British Columbia, Canada. Our second Gay Ski Week brought us again to the Western part of Canada, to British Columbia’s Whistler, to be precise. Together with hundreds of gay men, lesbian women, and all members of the LGBTQ+ community, we spent a week on the slopes of the Canadian Ski Resort Whistler Blackcomb enjoying incredibly much Canadian powder snow. Besides the usual winter sports like skiing and snowboarding through the British Columbian dense forest, Gay Whistler offers several different winter sports like zip-lining and snowmobiling organized by The Adventure Group Whistler.

Next to all the sporting there were of course a lot of LGBTQ+ events like the night of comedy with Margaret Cho, the LGBTQ+ Social Media Workshop, a special dinner evening at Bearfoot restaurant and the famous Furocious, Splash Pool Party, the Sip N’ Dip at the Scandinave Spa and the great closing event Snowball.

Top gay-friendly destinations around the world at the Spartacus Gay Travel Index 2018. Spartacus, the German publisher of gay travel guidebooks based in Berlin just released their annual Gay Travel Index giving a detailed ranking of LGBT-friendly countries worldwide. Since 2013, gay and lesbian travelers can find information about how gay-friendly their holiday destination really is. The guys behind the Spartacus Gay Travel Index thereby include the facts of how legal homosexuality actually is and if there are any anti-discrimination laws regarding sexual orientation or HIV travel restrictions.

This time we as Gay Couple Travel Bloggers will attend the 26th edition of LGBTQ+ Whistler Pride & Ski Festival 2018 in British Columbia, which is considered to be one of the biggest and best Gay Ski Weeks worldwide. Last year we already had a great time exploring the East side of the Canadian Rocky Mountains in Alberta driving along the Icefield’s Parkway starting from Calgary all the way up to Jasper joining the Gay Ski Week Jasper Pride. But now it is time to go West! In January 2018, we will fly with Delta Airlines to visit Vancouver, B.C. showing you around Tourism Vancouver’s 17-days Dine Out™ Vancouver Festival, Canada’s largest annual food and drink festival with over 200 participating restaurants and more than 30 events. DENMARK: A day in one of the oldest amusement parks in the world should not be missed! The whole city of Copenhagen including Tivoli is changing during “Jul i Tivoli” into an ocean of light! Truly magical, especially as a Christmas present surprise trip.

ICELAND: No-Man’s-Land of Skaftafell National Park: Eternal Glacier Ice, wonderful hikes to unique waterfalls and over thousands of years old icebergs in the glacier lagoon.

Amsterdam Light Festival Highlights 2015-2014 – Wintertime in Western Europe is quite a difficult time: almost no snow combined with a lot of wind and rain. Additional to shorter days and the lack of light the Dutch capital Amsterdam initiated 4 years ago the annually Amsterdam Light Festival. Artist working on alight project were given the opportunity to dive Amsterdam into light. Do it like the gay couple is doing it and discover the beauty of the city in the dark! THE CRUISE: The weather could not have been better when the first high heels entered the dancefloor. Blue sky and warm summer sun were promising making the Lady Party a total success, again!

CRUISE: Right after being back from ashore, we slipped into our golden wrestling outfits, put on our disco wigs and golden sunglasses to join the party crowd on the pool deck to “Boogie Oogie Oogie” into the night.

Where are you from Party The Cruise 2017: As a permanent costume party feature, The Cruise by La Demence organizes the getting-to-know event as one of the first parties of the annual cruise week. There are more than two thousand gay men on board the cruise ship Monarch but we actually have no idea where every single man actually comes from! And there were lot men to take into account! In total 86 different nationalities from all over the world gathered together for one big colorful, peaceful gaycation celebration on board the gay cruise ship!

ICELAND: Lucky us, we had a little extra time during our 21-day Road Trip around Iceland to try a second whale watching tour, this time in Dalvík in North Iceland.

Our Photos Videos (Gay) Pride Week Amsterdam 2017 – The team of this year’s Gay Pride Week of the Dutch capital had a difficult task to solve. Why? Well, since 2016 was the year of the Euro Pride in Amsterdam with a whole month full of activities, events, and more than 560.000 guests from all over the world, the expectations to organize an impressive LGBTQ+ Pride Event were set high. You wanna know how we rate the (Gay) Pride Amsterdam 2017 in our home city? We loved it. And we are talking not only about the world famous Amsterdam Canal Parade.

Gay Couple Biking Tour Fort Island Pampus – Amsterdam during summer time is the best time of the year to explore the city but also the beautiful natural surroundings. But how are the Dutch people doing it? Of course, by bike! This weekend we decided to bike back in the past to learn more about Dutch history and the defense systems around Amsterdam, which have been declared as a UNESCO World Heritage site. We started our tour in Amsterdam center.

FINLAND: Kept as a secret, the citizens of Helsinki are more than proud to live in their wonderful nature connected city.

ICELAND: Asking travel guides, books, blogs, and official websites was not really satisfactory concerning the length of our trip, choice of our rental car, the planning of our gay-friendly accommodations and assembling our camping equipment.

ICELAND: Looking back on the fantastic things we experienced during our 21-day camping road trip, it was just the perfect adventure trip in Northern Europe.

Our Gay Couple Biking Trips Amsterdam Forest brings us this time to the green lounge of the Dutch capital, to the Amsterdamse Bos or the Forest of Amsterdam. Located in the South-West of the city of Amsterdam, the man-made nature preserve is home to hundreds of different bigger and smaller animals, beautiful gardens, waterways and of course, wood. All year around the Forest of Amsterdam offers its visitors space to breath fresh air and relax from busy everyday life in a peaceful green environment just 30 minutes by bike from the city center of Amsterdam.

SOUTH EUROPE: Finally, we went on a Gay Cruise – with La Demence 6th edition on the cruise ship SOVEREIGN around the sunny and warm Mediterranean Sea.

A Gay Couple City Weekend Nijmegen – It is time for Nijmegen, the oldest Dutch city is the fifth destination of our Dutch Gay City Tour in a warming late winter sun. We spent a long weekend in the history-charged charming city in Gelderland close to the German border. While wandering and biking around the unique mixture of a traditional Dutch city with a modern touch in architecture, art, hip and cozy places and along the Waal river, we felt home for some days in our gay-friendly hotel Sleep in Box5. An early warm spring sun, a busy shopping crowd in the city center and abounded spots along the river: Nijmegen has it all. Don’t forget to look up the old Dutch houses, check historical Roman archaeological finds at Valkhof Museum, enjoy a beer and dinner at the Honig Factory and discover the world like blind people do. ICELAND: North Iceland is rough, wild, wilder than we thought. But its unique and remarkably beautiful part of Iceland with incredible landscape that made it all worthwhile.

A Gay Couple City Weekend Groningen – Karl & Daan’s Dutch City Tour brought the gay couple to the “capital of the North”, especially for a visit at the Groninger Museum. Groningen with its compact and walkable old town surrounded by Grachten is very well known for its famous Groninger Museum. Currently with the V&A exhibition “David Bowie is”, the popular student life and a creative art scene. SWEDEN: Springtime is Eurovision time. After Måns Zelmerlöw won the ESC 2015 in Vienna, it was again time for Sweden after Malmö 2013 to host the biggest multicultural music festival in Europe.

Pure Nature around Neuendorfer Lake & Gruben Lake in East Germany on our Winter Road Trip Berlin Spree Forest Brandenburg. A perfect day trip or an ideal weekend off in East German Spree Forest in Brandenburg. The German capital is located in the eastern part of the Country surrounded by the state Brandenburg and a almost never ending nature region. Rivers, lakes and forest – especially in Winter this part of Germany is very calm, almost isolated and simply a wonderful place o relax and slow down. We collected some peaceful Winter impressions of the world famous Spree Forest nature world just a one-hour drive South direction from Berlin or in North direction from Dresden. Where during Summer time nature lovers from all over the world enjoying the clean environment on canoeing and hiking tours around Lübbenau the city of punts and pickles, the gay couple spent a slow living Winter day far away from busy everyday life.
