Queer Couple Stories: Love & Life Story of LGBTQ+

Love is love, and there is no better way of saying it. And that counts for everyone who is in love with another human being. For us, for you, and for many people out there in this wonderful colorful world, it does not matter who loves whom, same or different gender, same or different sexual orientation, same or different gender identity. Love should be appreciated and celebrated in every possible way. But in reality, queer couples are often facing different, even difficult realities, in many ways.

Be it the circumstance that being a member of the LGBTQ+ community gives you a difficult start in your adult life with family struggles, possible problems with your coming out, or, later on, a disadvantage at work. LGBTQ+ couples are no exception. One might think, living in a progressive and liberal city might do the trick. But even in Amsterdam, queer couples experience violence for just loving each other. During our trips or back home in Amsterdam, we are able to meet local LGBTQ+ couples running a hotel together, or a bar or a restaurant. They all have a story to tell. And we from Couple of Men are proud to share their queer couple stories with you.

Why is sharing ‘Queer Couple Stories’ so important?

By sharing their story, we get to understand the daily life situations of couples who are running a business together, who are the first same-sex couple getting married in Russia, or who are sharing their experience fleeing from persecution – because they love another human being. This is why we want to use Queer Couple Stories to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ couples and their situations with the goal to turn the perception of lesbian, gay, trans, and queer people to achieve equality and acceptance in their countries. We want to support them, possibly improve their and your lives, and we want them to be seen – by sharing their stories.
