AMSTERDAM: We have teamed up with festival director Werner Borkes to pick our favorite lesbian movies of 2023 from around the world.

ORLANDO: We stayed at the Aventura Hotel at the Universal Orlando Resort™ in Florida, located close to Universal’s Volcano Bay, Islands of Adventure, and Universal Studios Florida.

ORLANDO: Disney’s Animal Kingdom is the only Disney theme park that houses zoo-like attractions as well as rides and shows. We went on a gay-old adventure in search of the Pride mural and investigated how queer the animal kingdom actually is.

ORLANDO: Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been given a huge overhaul, creating some of the best-themed theme park areas ever seen. And being two big gay Star Wars nerds, we just had to dive into that galaxy far, far away!

ITALY: Gay-friendly BeVedetta in Scarlino, Italy, located high up on a hill overlooking the sea, was just the right place to experience a gaycation, far away from the stress of everyday life.

AMSTERDAM: Since 2019, we’ve been traveling around the world with our partner airline KLM. Now it’s time for us to take a closer look at how gay-friendly KLM Royal Dutch Airlines actually is!

AMSTERDAM: In 2022, the LGBTQ+ film festival Roze Filmdagen will be full of colorful movies, docus and short films. We selected the best 10 queer movies for you!

AMSTERDAM: For the 25th edition of the queer film festival Roze Filmdagen, we teamed up with festival director Werner Borkes to choose our best gay movies of 2022.

AMSTERDAM: The 25th edition of the queer film festival, movies, docus and short films about queer culture will be shown either at Ketelhuis or streamable at home.

WORLDWIDE: It must have been halfway somewhere between Sweden and Germany when we received an email from the Editorial Director of Lonely Planet.

GREECE: Mykonos has long enjoyed its worldwide reputation as a gay vacation hotspot. Much more so than other places I’ve written about, such as Sitges or Gran Canaria – probably only rivaling Amsterdam in terms of reputation.

UKRAINE: Sarah learned about the situation of the LGBTQ+ community in the Eastern European country at an online event organized specifically for activists and journalists.

GERMANY: The German publisher Spartacus, released its annual Gay Travel Index with a detailed ranking of the gay-friendliness of 202 countries.

SWEDEN: Get ready for World Pride 2021! Malmö will be co-hosting the biggest LGBTQ+ celebration the city has ever seen.

ITALY: Having gotten fatigues of my usual escapes to Sitges, Gran Canaria, and the like, I planned to visit the Italian island Sicily.

AMSTERDAM: Our Top 10 list of the best queer movies in 2021 selected for the Amsterdam LGBTQ+ Film Festival Roze Filmdagen 2021.

Amsterdam: Already for 25 years, the biggest Dutch LGBTQ+ film festival is inviting the queer community to watch the best gay movies of the year.

AMSTERDAM: The organizers decided for the 2021 edition, to turn the queer film festival into an online version with its best lesbian movies.

GERMANY: Often forgotten, the victims of Nazi Germany also include 5,000 to 15,000 gay men marked with the Pink Triangle.

SWEDEN: Is there a gay sauna in Malmö, you might ask? Not exactly. Although many of the local gays consider the Ribersborgs Kallbadhus is THE gay hotspot of the Swedish city.

NETHERLANDS: Gay men enjoy a significant amount of social acceptance and freedom in the capital city of the Netherlands – but it has come at the loss of many gay places and institutions.

SPAIN: Sitges tends not to be on everyone’s radar, which is why mentioning it to the uninitiated usually draws befuddled looks. For many gay men, however, the name Sitges evokes images of sun, sea, and… intimate encounters.

Chris Vincent experienced bullying like so many queer people growing as a young gay guy in a rather difficult environment. After graduating from acting school, the Danish LGBT and HIV/Aids activist Chris Vincent had to face an additional challenge to his young life: He was diagnosed as HIV-positive in 2014. Since then he has taken part in different campaigns to spread knowledge and awareness for HIV/AIDS and has founded an NGO himself.

WORLDWIDE: That is why we would like to use today’s opportunity to share knowledge about this important topic, help to create awareness, and show our support.

EUROPE: Couple of Men reporter Sarah could talk to transman Soldado who was born in Siberia, Russia, and had to face discrimination and violence for being LGBT in his home country.

NETHERLANDS: The story of lesbian couple Diana and Roksana from Poland, who left their home country to get married in the UK and to live a life in peace and love in the Netherlands.

MUNICH: The 4-star hotel was our accommodation for the 4-days trip to Munich this summer with enough space to play games, to dance to DJ sets, and to work in an LGBTQ+ welcoming environment.

SPAIN: Rather than being confined to a small area, cruising in Gran Canaria can take many forms from sandy beaches with towering dunes and its gay focussed businesses including bars, clubs, and hotels.

GERMANY: Torsten and Sascha, the gay couple chefs behind the food blog “Die Jungs kochen und backen” (engl.: “The guys cook and bake”), love to spend time together in the kitchen.
