We chose seven great LGBTQ+ events for the first year of the twenties that caught our attention and which we would like traveling to this year. #1 Pride of the Americas 2020

Dates: 21st to 26th of April 2020 | Fort Lauderdale – USA

Yes! We are going to Florida! It is time for our long overdue trip to Florida, USA. After visiting Orlando a couple of years ago, it is time to hit the beach and join hundreds of thousands of individuals in bringing global attention to the inequalities LGBT+ communities face in Latin America and the Caribbean. In partnership with Pride Fort Lauderdale, events will include runway shows, an arts festival, an LGBT+ Health and Wellness Conference, a Travel Symposium, a Business of the Americas Conference and a Transgender Summit. And no festival is complete without daily sunset concerts, a beach party, a parade, and other social activities at various venues around Greater Fort Lauderdale. #2 Euro Pride Thessaloniki 2020

Dates: 20th to 28th of June 2020 | Thessaloniki – Greece

From the 20th till the 28th of June 2020, Greece will be colored in rainbows during EuroPride. The second biggest city of Greece will become for nine days Europe’s headquarters for everyone who wants to party and fight for equality and tolerance. This year the EuroPride will be held under the motto Welcome to the future, where everyone can join celebrating in a series of art exhibitions, outdoor parties, concerts, open air film screenings, a human rights conference and, of course, the big EuroPride Parade on Saturday, 27 June 2020, on the 51st anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising.

#3 Queer Festival Heidelberg

Dates: 1st to 31st of May 2020 | Heidelberg – Germany

We are super excited about this one! You might have heard from Heidelberg, one of the picturesque German cities located in the south German state of Baden-Wurttemberg. What many do not know: It is also the hosting city of the internationally known Queer Festival featuring international stars, musicians, artists and Drag Queens. And we will test their 12th edition for you visiting Heidelberg and the neighboring city of Mannheim in May 2020. #4 Eurovision Song Contest 65th Edition

Date: Eurovision Week 11th to 17th May | Rotterdam – Netherlands

Eurovision will celebrate its 65th song contest edition in our home country, in the city of Rotterdam, from May 11 to May 17, 2020. The grand final will take place on the 16th of May 2020. After choosing the Dutch winner Duncan Laurence with his song Arcade in 2019, Europe will be watching and voting yet again to decide who will win the Grand Prix of catchy beats and over the top outfits in 2020. We are super happy and proud that the hosting city Rotterdam and the Eurovision Song Contest Location Rotterdam Ahoy Arena is just about one hour by train away from our home city Amsterdam. So make sure to combine your visit with some additional days in the Dutch capital city Amsterdam!

#5 Magical Pride at Disneyland Paris

Date: 6th of June 2020 | Paris – France

Always wanted to celebrate Pride at the most magical place on earth and you didn’t get the chance last year? #6 EuroGames Düsseldorf 18th Edition

Date: 5th to 9th August 2020 | Düsseldorf – Germany

We have talked about the Eurogames before, explaining the huge LGBTQ+ culture with lesbian, gay, and queer sports people participating from all around the world. This year, the sports event will take place in Düsseldorf, Germany with the 18th edition of the EuroGames. The LGBTQ+ sports event is therefore open to everyone, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or age. After the great success of the sports event in Helsinki in 2016, and the Italian capital city Rome in 2019, Düsseldorf will host athletes from Europe and the rest of the world united in sports in favor of civil rights of everyone, particularly the LGBTQ+ community. The EuroGames 2020 will include 30 sports which means about 12 more sports than in Rome! See you in Düsseldorf, everyone!

#7 Pink Lake Festival in Southern Austria

Date: 27th to 30th August 2020 | Wörthersee – Austria

It will be our 4th time to visit the Pink Lake Festival in 2020 in Austria. We had so much fun celebrating the LGBTQ+ summer event in 2017, 2018, and 2019 at Lake Wörthersee with hundreds of gay men, lesbian, trans, and queer people from all over Europe! From beach days with games, chill out music and fun in the water to Lederhosen parties and club nights – Pink Lake Wörthersee has it all and is going to organize their 13th edition in August 2020.
