Before we started our trip back to Europe early in the morning, we stayed in the Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel with a unique view over the International Airport YYC, Downtown Calgary, and the snowy tops of the Canadian Rockies. The luxurious interior, access to the M Club Lounge, and a short way from the Hotel check-out to the Airport check-in made our gay travel In-Terminal hotel experience a great final adventure in Canada in the year of its 150th anniversary 2017. But why booking an In-Terminal Hotel? And did we sleep well although facing the runway of the airport?
Our stay at Concierge Level King Guest Room
We stayed on the highest floor of the Marriott Airport In-Terminal Hotel, with complimentary access to the M Club Lounge and a stunning view over the Airport. The spacious room in elegant design and luxurious furniture was all we needed to enjoy our last hours in Calgary before departing the next morning back home to Amsterdam. The huge king-size bed, the comfortable chaise lounge (optional bed for two), the ergonomic working space and the enormous bathroom made it easy for us to calm down and recharge our batteries before our long-distance flight.
Special about our room: the shower was separated by alabaster glass, so you can enjoy watching your loved one taking a shower. Additional to the complimentary amenities like coffee and tea utensils, robes, slippers and shower gels, the view over the airport’s busy life was fascinating. Equipped with a telescope and located on the top floor of the Calgary Airport Marriott Terminal Hotel Gay-friendly, there was almost nothing we couldn’t spy on. We loved it.

Although our road trip through the Canadian Rockies was spectacularly beautiful, we were happy to be able to relax just before our long-distance flights back home. And, we were right at the airport, so no taxi drive or anything like that needed to be organized. To make our In-Terminal stay even more luxurious, we treated ourselves with the access to the M CLUB Lounge of the Calgary Airport Marriott Terminal Hotel.
That means breathtaking views (as you can see on our Hotel photos) combined with exemplary services like the included breakfast, appetizers during the day, grab & go including Starbucks Coffee and non-alcoholic refreshments. All that with a stunning view over Calgary International Airport (YYC), the skyline of Downtown Calgary during the night and while in sunset and on a clear day (like we experienced) even over the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The room with Airport view and the M Club Lounge are not the only luxury facilities of the Marriott Hotel. Part of the gay-friendly accommodation is a Fitness Center with Cardiovascular equipment and free weights, an Indoor Pool, and a Whirlpool. For our convenience, the towels have been provided at the pool area. Furthermore, the Hotel offers a free Wi-Fi service in public areas of the hotel. There are different reasons to book an airport or In-Terminal Hotel, from the exciting view over the runway and all the other international airplanes to the short way from the hotel bed to the gate. It was a wonderful, luxurious experience not to feel the urge to get up far too early to be on time at the airport. Because the opposite was the case, since we arrived late in the evening at the airport and would have to leave early in the morning, we saved much traveling time from YYC to Downtown Calgary and back. Additionally, we strongly recommend the amiable staff of the Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel Gay-friendly, who helped us instantly read anything in our eyes. Thumbs up, and we will stay there again.

Good to know:
From the Check-out of the Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel to the International Terminal including the Unites States (direction west) and the National Terminal for inner Canadian flights (direction east) is literally 5 to 10 minutes walking distance away. We never had such a convenient short walk from the Hotel bed to the Check-In.
