Gay-friendly Design Hotel Aloft Munich, Germany | Review
Gay couple hotel review of the Design Hotel Aloft in Munich, Germany. During our German Summer adventure to Munich, we stayed at the LGBTQ+ friendly design hotel by Marriott close to Munich central station. The hotel is located close to the city center within walking distance to the gayborhood Glockenbachviertel with shopping and sights. The accommodation with easy access to the tram, S-Bahn, and bike rentals, offers spacious loft hotel rooms with optional breakfast, a pantry kitchen re:fuel grab & go, the fitness center re:charge, and the W XYZ Cocktailbar.
The hotel with a 4-star standard was our LGBTQ+ welcoming accommodation for the four days trip to Munich this summer with enough space to play games, to dance to DJ sets, and to work in an LGBTQ+ welcoming environment. Enjoy our photos, the story about Munich, and our hotel review! We are convinced that we can inspire you with our Couple of Men gay couple hotel review to book a stay at the gay-friendly design hotel Aloft Munich, not only for CSD Munich Pride but also as a perfect spot near Glockenbachviertel.
Review of the Aloft Hotel in Munich
We stayed in the loft room on the 7th floor overlooking Munich Central Station. The design of the Aloft Munich hotel is modern, minimalistic in the typical style of the Aloft Hotels from the Marriott International Portfolio. The lobby was huge with a lounge area for live music events, a pool and football table, enough space to work or, the much more attractive option, to have a cocktail in the W XYZ Bar to get a night out in Munich started.
We loved the breakfast (optionally bookable) with the typical white Bavarian sausages and pretzels as well as the variety of vegetarian and continental options like eggs, salads, and croissants for Daan. During the day, the re:fuel grab’n go offers snacks and drinks to purchase for its (LGBTQ+) hotel guest. The hotel staff was all day round (the hotel has a 24hours reception) super friendly and helpful striving to make our stay as an openly gay couple as relaxed and comfortable as possible.

Good to know: The design hotel Aloft Munich is one of the official partner hotels of the CSD Munich Pride with events and parties during the annual LGBTQ+ event that is considered to be one of the biggest CSD – Pride events in Germany. Located directly at Munich Central Station, you can reach the most famous sights and the best party hotspots of the LGBTQ+ scene in the Glockenbachviertel on foot or after a short ride with the tram. The tickets can be purchased in the tram – payment by credit card or cash is accepted.
The hotel chain Marriott has been an active supporter of the LGBTQ+ community for many years already using the pride hashtag #lovetravels. It is not without reason that we have already stayed, tested, and reviewed several Marriott hotels around the world like the Klaus K Design Hotel Helsinki, the MOXY Hotel Berlin Ostbahnhof, the Marriott Downtown Toronto Eaton Centre, The Douglas Vancouver Hotel, or the LGBTQ+ friendly Calgary Airport Marriott Terminal Hotel.
King Urban and Loft Room
The interior of the kingsize-bed loft rooms at the Aloft Hotel Munich is in a minimalistic and modern style including the super comfy king bed, a huge TV, a minibar, air-conditioning system, a safe that was big enough for both our Macbooks and all amenities we expected of a Marriott hotel with a 4-star standard. Our room had a great view of Munich’s rooftops with the TV tower of the Olympic Park we visited during our stay visible on the horizon. Even though the hotel is located in a very busy area of the city, we can assure you, our stay was very relaxing, thanks to the impressive noise insulation of the windows. After a refreshing shower in the spacious bathroom, it was time for us to enjoy the rich breakfast in the inner courtyard.

Fun & luxury Facilities at Aloft Munich
Additionally to the excellent breakfast buffet with access to the inner courtyard (for breakfast and evening drinks), the use of the 24-hours fitness studio was included as well. After a day of sightseeing in Munich, the re:mix lounge with pool table and table football with the W XYZ bar close by was just the right way to end an exciting day in Munich. In our opinion, the design hotel Aloft knows how to welcome and entertain national and international LGBTQ+ travelers coming to Munich for a city trip weekend or for CSD Munich Pride.
Everything is easily accessible with the hotel room card or even the smartphone. Nice! Especially during these unprecedented times, Marriott Int. and the Aloft staff are doing everything they can to make us feel at home in Munich – and safe! And during our last evening, when it started to rain, we just got a huge Aloft hotel umbrella for the night. We cannot wait to be back in Munich and would recommend to all lesbian, gay, trans, and queer travelers to check out the LGBTQ+ friendly and welcoming Aloft hotel in Munich!

Gay Germany Travel Guide
After a wonderful time in Malmö, we boarded our rental car for a 5-days road trip along the South Swedish coast to Mölle, Helsingborg, and Kivik. Stunning Swedish nature, unforgettable sunsets over the Baltic Sea, and some wonderful unique gay couple stories. Did we mention our clothing-optional gay beach?
