Curious about an Escape Room in France in the English language, we arrived at 29 rue Delille in a beautiful old-town building in Nice. The friendly staff of “Fox in a Box – Nice” made us feel very welcome in their cute decorated waiting/chill area filled with little puzzles to get in the right mood.
We played the escape room “The Bunker”, a locked up room experience designed around the story of a nuclear bomb launch. We played the room with just the two of us. The puzzles have been well designed and story driven which made it a lot of fun to do our best. Fox in a Box opened their first real-life escape room in Vienna, Austria in 2013. Now you can find more than twenty Fox-in-a-Box locations across three continents. Obviously, the company is a well working franchise with a total of seven unique escape rooms. The Bank Job, The Bunker, Prison break, Zombie Lab, Library, Tesla’s Mystery and Zodiac Killer. Every location has its own choice of game installments. At Fox in a Box in the city of Nice in France, we had the option to choose between Central Bank (The Bank Job), Zombie Lab and The Bunker.
Escape room „The Bunker”:
The Bunker is an escape room designed around the story of a nuclear bomb lounge by a mean spy during the peak of the cold war in the early eighties. As a team of special spy, you are sent to the villains bunker with the mission to disable the attack and save the world from extinction. All puzzles follow up the story of finding and dismantling the nuclear attack. Everything is well themed and in good condition. The Bunker uses a smart and fun telegram/postcard system for giving hints and tips when things get difficult.

Fox in a Box might be a big Escape Room franchise with the same rooms all over France, Italy and the US but the quality of the rooms is good enough to forgive them their lack of different game creations. Fox in a Box Nice makes you feel very welcome in the cute decorated waiting/chill area. The puzzles of The Bunker are well designed and story driven which made it a lot of fun to do our best. We played the room with just the two of us but we got out in time
