Gay-friendly stay at Mainport Hotel Rotterdam | Review

Review of our gay-friendly stay at the 5-star Mainport Hotel in Rotterdam. During our city trip to the popular Dutch city of Rotterdam south of Amsterdam, we stayed at the luxurious 5-star hotel right by the waterside, not far from the heart of Rotterdam. Named as one of the most luxurious and modern accommodations of the Dutch Harbor City of the Netherlands, The Mainport Hotel by Inntel Hotels was a very welcoming place for our city trip. From the check-in at the stylish lobby, to the modern and accentual interior throughout the whole venue, and the special creative touch with selected art pieces, we understand why.

But we should not forget to mention the unique location of the hotel. The city port area with its floating museum and monuments, famous ships, and the water cap stands is a place to spend some time, having dinner or just enjoying the beauty of the passing boats. In a word, luxury combined with a perfect city trip location: the right LGBT and gay-friendly accommodation to stay during a Gay Couple City Weekend Rotterdam. Enjoy our photos, tips, and stories of the Gay-Friendly Mainport Hotel Rotterdam and see the 5-star Hotel by Inntel Hotels through a couple of men‘s eyes.

Themed floors at Mainport Rotterdam

After a quick and comfortable check-in (we booked our stay via here >), we started with a discovery tour around the highlights of the hotel. Every floor is themed with rich fabrics and deep colors of different countries from around the world,  and so are the interiors of the rooms with matching colors and light installations. We were booked in a room on the Arctic floor themed in blue colors and icy graphics.

Our room was a Waterfront Spa Room. Special about that room type: we had a private whirlpool right next to the big window front with a fantastic view over the Leuven Haven. The bed was comfortable, and the small kitchen equipped with a water kettle and a coffee machine. The bathroom was spacious with a private sauna for two and an additional whirlpool right next to the window front. The breakfast was very delicious with fresh fruits, yogurt, cold and warm dishes. As a guest of the Main port, you can choose for free if you want to get your breakfast served in your room or at the waterfront restaurant.

Rooftop Wellness Area and Pool

Don’t miss the view from the Rooftop-Spa with Pool and Sauna. Especially, the view over the Leuven Hafen and the famous Erasmus bridge was simply stunning. A great place to relax after a city tour for example with a Rotterdam water taxi.

Take a ride on Water Taxi

Water taxi? The Mainport Hotel Rotterdam is located right next to a taxi stop. But not only for cars! The fastest way around the traffic jams of Rotterdam is going by a water taxi from one side of the river Nieuwe Maas to the other side.
