Gay Travel Southern Africa

Probably one of the gay-friendliest ways to explore Southern Africa. It is hard to find the right words to describe our first ever Africa experience, especially because we choose a completely new way of traveling for us by boarding a train from Rovos Rail. Starting at the Namibian Atlantic coast in Walvis Bay, we traveled on railway tracks through Namibia entering South Africa on our way to Pretoria, South Africa’s capital city. During our nine days Namibia South Africa Train Safari with Rovos Rail, we had the chance to visit one of the most spectacular sights of Namibia, the dunes and desert of Sossusvlei. To get there is a real African adventure on itself which starts with a bus drive from the Pride of Africa train to the Namibian capital city Windhoek early in the morning. After a short city tour visiting the Independence Memorial Museum, we arrived at the Eros Airport for our one hour flight to the Sossusvlei Dunes in the Namib Desert.

During our nine days Namibia South Africa Train Safari with Rovos Rail, we had the chance to visit one of the biggest National Parks in Africa. Etosha particularly known for its rich life stock including Elephants, Southern white and south-west black Rhinos, Giraffes, Zebras, Kudus and a diverse population of birds like Ostriches and Kori bustards, is located in the Northern part of Namibia, the southwestern African country. Etosha National Park itself is continuously under protection for poachers and other animal threatenings to guarantee a healthy and balanced environment for the animals and vegetation.
