Lady T-Dance Party The Cruise 2017: After an exciting day exploring the Canary Islands La Gomera and La Palma the day before, the cruise ship Monarch sets sail into the sunset towards the island Tenerife. Enough time to have dinner, refresh and get dressed for one of The Cruise party highlights in 2017: the Ladies T-Dance on the pool deck. The weather could not have been better when the first high heels entered the dancefloor. Blue sky and warm summer sun were promising making the Lady Party a total success, again!
Disco T-Dance Party The Cruise 2017: Right after being back from our one-day trip to the Portuguese flower island Madeira, we slipped into our golden wrestling outfits, put on our disco wigs and golden sunglasses to join the party crowd on the pool deck to “Boogie Oogie Oogie” into the night. The annual Disco Party is already for some years now a fixed part of The Cruise Party itinerary and was again on our gay cruise this year.
Where are you from Party The Cruise 2017: As a permanent costume party feature, The Cruise by La Demence organizes the getting-to-know event as one of the first parties of the annual cruise week. There are more than two thousand gay men on board the cruise ship Monarch but we actually have no idea where every single man actually comes from! And there were lot men to take into account! In total 86 different nationalities from all over the world gathered together for one big colorful, peaceful gaycation celebration on board the gay cruise ship!
Humpback Whale Watching Dalvík North Iceland with Arctic Sea Tours. After we met the first mammal giants on our first Whale Watching tour in Husavík, we got so excited and fascinated, we wanted to see more whales. Lucky us, we had a little extra time during our 21-day Road Trip Iceland to try a second whale watching tour in North Iceland. Wonderful sunny weather, a calm sea and a lot of whales with time for our whale-selfie (see below) made our adventure a great part of our 13 Top Highlights Road Trip Iceland. If you are doubting which location is the best place for Whale watching in North Iceland, Husavík or Dalvík, choose the one that fits your itinerary better. Since both places in Iceland’s North offer a 99% chance of seeing whales during a tour (we saw whales on both trips), both ships have been clean, well maintained with friendly staff and you get a local snack on your way back to the harbor. Although we have to admit, the freshly caught fish from our trip in Husavík was the topping for our whale-adventure in Iceland. Enjoy our pictures and whale-selfie!
Finally Equality Germany Same-Sex Marriage – This year Germany will have parliamentary elections (for the Bundestag) where Angela Merkel is up for re-election for the fourth time. Until now, the German government is against marriage equality and allows only the soft version of the gay marriage as a civil union since 2001. That means German members of the LGBTQ+ community are not able to claim same rights compared to straight relationships. But this is about to change, thanks to LGBTQ+ activists in Germany and for sure thanks to all the people joining German Gay Pride Parades of the last years. After all political German parties confirmed to condition possible political coalitions on Same-Sex Marriage, in German called “Ehe für Alle”, German Chancellor Angela Merkel officially cleared the vote about Same-Sex Marriage at German Bundestag for the government at the end of this week. As expected, Same-Sex Marriage holds a majority within all parties except the right-wing party AfD (Alternative for Germany) and members of the Christian Democratic Union. As the date of the official introduction is not fixed yet, the German LGBTQ+ community and their allies worldwide celebrate how equality finally arrived in Germany. We will have Same-Sex Marriage in Germany!
