Happy New Year’s celebrations everyone and may 2017 be a good year for you and your beloved ones! We would like to thank you for your loyalty and support during our past travel months, for your tips, advice, and for all the time we spend together along the travel paths. The past 12 months have been very special to us. Exploring unknown countries, meeting so many, so lovely people and being able to attend Gay Pride Parades in Helsinki, Tel Aviv, and Amsterdam just made 2016 to one of our best travel years we ever had.
FRANCE: The Italian Restaurant “Chez Acchiardo” is a perfect place for a late lunch or a dinner in the middle of the city of Nice, France at the Côte d’Azur.
From karlisworld to coupleofmen – The story of our gay travel blog started already almost 4 years ago when we met each other for the first time in Berlin. It was love at first sight between two men from different countries. The love was stronger than the distance and so our (travel) love story together began. After traveling for 6 months between Amsterdam and Berlin, Karl got a job and house offer in Amsterdam and the decision was made to move in together in the Dutch capital. But traveling was anything but over. Together we made our first big trips to Vietnam and Japan and discovered to be a perfect match when traveling together.
A Gay Couple hiking Svínafellsjökull Glacier – After parking our car, we walked to the small wooden house of Arctic Adventures. After the check in and the try out of our “ice-shoes”, a small bus for approximately 10 people brought us and our tour guide Síf to the foot of the glacier tongue of Svínafellsjökull. Equipped with our camera, crampons and ice-picks the tour started heading towards the thousand of years old ice. The backstory of all the geological particularities was simply impressive!
Muzieum Nijmegen Experience Blind World – The museum experience muZIEum (Engl.: MuSEEum). The basement of the Schouwburg (Theater) was transformed into a dark room fully equipped with everyday items and objects to create an environment alike blind people are experiencing our visible world, day by day.
Restaurant Cantinetta Wine & Pasta in Amsterdam West – This amazing place is very special to us. Let us tell you a short story about “our” favorite restaurant Cantinetta Wine & Pasta in Amsterdam West (very gay-friendly). During Karl’s first time visiting Daan over the weekend three years ago, we went together to the, back then, recently opened restaurant Cantinetta Wine & Pasta in Amsterdam West. The food was (still is) amazing and with its “Berlin sense of style” it felt for Karl a bit like home. Talking to the owners, the lesbian couple Debb and Claudia, made this first time eating at Cantinetta like a cozy family dinner. Since then, already 3 years passed by and we are coming here regularly to meet our “girlfriends” and spoil our tummies.
Restaurant “Soepboer” in Amsterdam Noord – If you got hungry and you are on the lookout for a nice place to lunch in Amsterdam Noord, take a 10-minutes walk to the cosy restaurant “Soepboer”. Taste the delicious, fresh and self-made soups and sandwiches in this tiny unremarkable restaurant, sitting on its beautiful garden terrace in the sun or in a cozy corner inside at Restaurant Soepboer Amsterdam Noord.
